His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah emphasises that the signing of the memoranda of understanding between Brunei Darussalam and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste marks concrete progress in strengthening partnerships and supporting sustainable development.

His Majesty delivered the titah during the Official Luncheon in honour of the Visit of His Excellency Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, who is on a 3-day Official Visit from 3rd to 6th May 2026.

His Majesty first received in audience the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The Audience Ceremony took place at Cheradi Laila Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman.

Present at the Audience Ceremony were members of the Royal Family. Also in attendance were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism as Minister-in-Attendance, and the official delegation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.
